Privacy Policy

How Excel Canada handles your personal information — in line with PIPEDA.

Last updated: June 18, 2026

1. Who is responsible for your information

This website (https://www.excelcanada.com/) is operated by Excel Canada. We respect your privacy and handle your personal information carefully, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and any applicable provincial privacy law.

(Full operator details are on the Terms of Use page.)

2. What information do we collect?

We collect as little personal information as possible. Specifically:

  • Technical data — IP address (anonymized), browser type, operating system, referring website and language setting. This information is necessary for the site to run securely and reliably.
  • Usage statistics — pages visited, click behaviour and templates downloaded. We collect this only with your consent through the cookie banner.
  • Contact details — when you write to us: your email address and the contents of your message.

We require no registration, no newsletter sign-up and no payment information to download templates.

3. Why we use the information (purposes)

  • To protect the site against misuse (technical data).
  • To understand which templates are used most, so we can improve our collection (analytics cookies — with consent).
  • To respond to your contact request.
  • To display ads through ad networks (only after express consent).

Under PIPEDA, we rely on your knowledge and consent (express or implied) for these purposes. Where you provide consent for cookies or advertising, you may withdraw it at any time.

4. Who do we share information with?

We do not sell your information. We share it only with:

  • Hosting provider — to run the website.
  • Google Analytics — with anonymized IP, only after consent through the cookie banner.
  • Ad networks (Google AdSense) — only if you accept personalized ads.

Some of these providers may store or process data outside Canada (for example in the United States). Where that happens, the information may be accessible to authorities in that country under its laws.

5. How long we keep information

  • Access logs: a maximum of 6 months.
  • Statistics (anonymized): a maximum of 26 months.
  • Emails: no longer than 24 months after the last reply.

6. Your rights under PIPEDA

  • Right of access — find out what information we hold about you.
  • Right to correction — have inaccurate information corrected.
  • Right to withdraw consent — for cookies and ads, through the cookie settings on this site.
  • Right to complain — about how your information is handled (see below).

Email [email protected] to exercise any of these rights. We respond within 30 days.

7. Right to complain

Not satisfied with how your information is handled? You can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at priv.gc.ca, or your provincial privacy regulator.

8. Security and breaches

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information. If a breach of security creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required under PIPEDA.

9. Changes

We may adjust this policy if our practices or the law change. The current version is always available on this page.
